Elizabeth "Liz" Thach, Ph.D., Professor of Management, Wine Business Program, Sonoma State University, Rohnert Park, CA

 

Liz Thach is a wine business and management professor at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA.  In addition to her academic experience, Liz has worked for more than 14 years at the management and executive level within Fortune 500 companies, as well as doing consulting and research in the wine industry. 

 

She currently teaches the Introduction to Wine Business Strategies class at SSU; conducts research in wine industry management and human resource practices, consumer behavior, and marketing strategies; and serves as a liaison between wine business students and industry. 

 

Liz has a doctorate in Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University; has published extensively, and has traveled to most wine regions of the world.  She has published more than 30 wine articles and two books: Wine: A Global Business, with co-editor Tim Matz of Kendall-Jackson and Wine Marketing & Sales with Paul Wagner and Janeen Olsen.  Liz is very active in wine industry associations, such as WineVision, WineSpirit, Women for WineSense and planning committees for Unified Wine Symposium.  She is also on the Advisory Board of Benchmark Consulting, SureHarvest, and EXCN.

 

Liz lives in Sonoma County, and spends part of her time tending a hobby vineyard and making wine on Sonoma Mountain.
